My favorite "Moon Pie Memory" carries me back to living on
a farm in
northwest Tennessee and riding a school bus. If rain cut my daddy's workday
on the railroad short, he would come by school to carry me home. Even
now
the memory is so vivid of opening his black, humpback lunchbox and the
excitement of finding a Moon Pie! What a double treat - a ride home with
Daddy and the special after-school snack. No wonder the Ware House pantry
is stocked with a box each of vanilla and chocolate Moon Pies 50 years
later!
