Best Family Memory
(retyped verbatim from hand-written submission)
Dear friend,
I would like to share my fondest memories of 53 years ago when I was 13
years old. My father was sick with typhoid fever, I would walk a mile
or so
to this little country store to buy him Moon Pies and R.C. Cola and grape
drink. I think that brought him through his fever because that was a bad
thing in those days. Most people that got it died. Those were sad memories
for me because I thought my Daddy was going to die, so when daddy got
better
I was so happy. I would bring the R.C. and grape drinks home and Moon
Pies.
And we had a ice box and I would put the drinks in the ice box and get
the
drinks real cold and daddy would drink those RC and Grape drinks and eat
those Moon Pies. It made him very hapy. Thank you so much.
